Bicultural Mama’s ‘Desperately Seeking Western Eyes’ Featured in BonBon Break Magazine

The most recent issue of BonBon Break magazine, an online parenting publication, released today. Started by two New York moms, the magazine highlights inspirational, entertaining or education blogs.

BonBon Break chose to feature a personal post I had written called, “Desperately Seeking Western Eyes – One Asian’s Story.”

Many Asians seek eyes with “double-lined” lids, a trait viewed as ideal that is found in Westerners. Some Asians even undergo surgery to “correct” their Asian eyes. Maria Adcock of BiculturalMama.com shares her own story as a Chinese-American teen growing up in the Midwest and how motherhood changed her perceptions of self-worth.
