At the BlogHer conference earlier this month, I visited the Energizer booth and learned about flameless wax candles with LED light bulbs. What I learned about flameless candles really impressed me. Here’s why:

Reduces the Risk of Fires – This attribute is especially important if there are kids or pets at home who may accidentally bump into them (or play with candles out of curiosity). Unlike traditional candles, users can place flameless ones near curtains or furniture.

Saves Money – Flameless candles last longer because the wax never melts away, and there’s no candle wick to burn. The Energizer flameless candles use long-lasting LED light bulbs which means users don’t have to spend money replacing them frequently. Though these candles require 4 AA batteries (not included), Energizer’s AA alkaline batteries provide a generous 800 hours of runtime.

Clean – There’s no messy wax that could adhere to and discolor the table or shelf the candle is sitting on (removing melted wax is a pain!). There’s also no worries about stray ash, soot or sparks that are risks with real flames.

Stylish – The Energizer candles are made of real wax and include fragrances just like traditional candles. The LED bulbs flicker to look like flames. The candles are available in these pillar sizes: 3” x 4” to 4” x 8” as well as in filled glass jars with lids. Users can choose from a range of colors to blend in with existing décor: white, taupe, dark brown, pumpkin orange and burgundy. Fragrances available include: honey vanilla, driftwood, pumpkin spice, vanilla and pomegranate passion. Finishes include smooth or frosted.

Control – In addition to controlling fire risk hazards, users can set a 3-level timer to choose auto shut-off at 4, 6 or 8 hours.

Though flameless candles are not exactly like traditional candles, they are pretty darn close and offer a much safer option when there are kids or pets at home. That peace of mind is well worth it.
