Last week I was invited to be part of the Disney "Social Media Moms On the Road" Celebration in Long Island, New York. Brought together by Disney Parks and BSM Media, the Disney ‘Social Media Moms On the Road’ program (#DisneyOntheRoad) brought together online influencers to hear inspirational stories and learn from mom entrepreneurs.

Maria Bailey, CEO of BSM Media and host of Mom Talk Radio made opening remarks followed by keynote speaker Susie Coelho. The lifestyle expert, television personality and best-selling author spoke about her experiences as an entrepreneur. She discussed how passion, good marketing and public relations can make a business successful. She advised to, “Always expand – when things are going well, that’s when you look for the next thing.”

The next keynote speaker, Britt Menzies, provided valuable insight into launching a business from a simple idea. The creator of StinkyKids revealed about how a request from her daughter to paint her as a ballerina has led to a successful line of clothing, dolls, books and even a musical. Menzies spoke of working hard, following your passion and gut feel and the importance of the support of friends to make a business work.

In the Mompreneur Panel Discussion, local moms Amy Platt (LIParentSource.com), Christine Laureano (Ba6 Botanicals) and Lisa Gunderson (Polkadot Pound Cake) answered questions from the audience about starting and growing your own business. Each provided valuable advice culled from their own experiences.

The program ended with the dynamic Debi Silber, also known as The Mojo Coach® and President of Lifestyle Fitness, Inc. She shared her inspirational personal story about turning her life around and advised how we can all improve our body, mind, image, and lifestyle.
