“Can You Trust a Computer to Tutor Your Child?” My Post on Care.com

With the advent of technology, parents can access multiple online tutoring programs for their kids. But what’s best when it comes to tutoring – face-to-face interaction or a computer?

I researched the subject for Care.com, a national website providing caretaker resources for kids, pets, home and seniors. The piece identified the pros and cons of online tutoring. Pros included everything from convenience to parental tracking while considerations took into account self-discipline, lack of personal interaction and more.

A big “Thank You!” to my experts who provided guidance and quotes: Stephanie Mulder, a third grade public school teacher in Chicago; Angela Jones, owner and director of Paradigm Care & Enrichment Center, a preschool, daycare and enrichment program in Michigan; and Terry Winn, a mom of two from New Jersey.
