Consumers’ Attitudes Towards Independent Contractors Infographic

Hiring a contractor to work on your house is a big commitment not only in terms of money, but also regarding time and trust. Many people hold negative views of contractors based on bad experiences – contractors who take money and run, projects left unfinished, workers not showing up on time or at all, and schedules that run weeks behind. I have experienced many of these acts of shadiness, and it’s infuriating. No wonder there’s a trust issue.

For our home, we’ve been using the same independent contractor for the last 10 years. We’ve developed a trusting relationship and have recommended him to several friends. He’s proven to be honest and credible, and now he’s our Go-To guy for house projects.

Read on to find out more about what our fellow consumers are thinking when it comes to hiring independent contractors.
