The First Years Disney Collection Offers Cute and Innovative Products for Kids

Disclosure: I received The First Years Disney Collection samples to assess. All opinions are mine.

I am immersed in the world of toddlerhood. My active toddler loves to explore everything. She’s a whirlwind running around the house, trying to keep up with her big sister. Anything that makes life easier when it comes to toddlers, I’m all for it. That’s why I was eager to try out The First Years Disney Collection.

The First Years is a brand that has been creating innovative products for parents and their children for over 60 years. Now that they’ve partnered with Disney to create new products, it’s no surprise cuteness abounds along with functionality in their products. My toddler and I tried out several items from The First Years Disney Collection. See below for my reviews.

Disney/Pixar Finding Nemo Bath Squirt Toys

My toddler enjoyed trying to squirt mama with water. Bath toy characters include Nemo, Dory, and Squirt. Recommended for ages 6 months+ with a suggested retail price of $7.99. Disney Straw Cup with Handles

disney-collection-mickey-straw-cupMy daughter loves using straw cups. She is done with a bottle but not quite there when it comes to open cups. As such, straw cups are a good in-between cup. The First Years Disney Baby 7 oz. Straw Cups feature easy-to-grip handles that are just the right size for tiny hands. The cup is spill proof and made without BPA. It includes a soft-tip straw with a one-piece lid. The advantage of the one-piece lid is that there are no small parts to lose. But if taking it on-the-go, a lid would have been nice to keep the straw sanitary when toddlers throw it to the ground (and we all know that will happen!).

The ears on the lid touched my daughter’s face as she was drinking. It wouldn’t be an issue if toddlers held the cup straight down, but kids tend to tip it towards them while drinking. While she was still able to drink out of it, a longer straw spout could have prevented the ears from poking into her cheeks. Just something for the manufacturers to think about if they ever revamp the product. Recommended for ages 9 months+ with a suggested retail price of $4.99. Available in Mickey and Minnie characters. Purchase it online at www.walmart.com.

Disney Simply Spoutless Cup

image005The First Years Disney Simply Spoutless Cups are ideal for the transition time between a sippy or straw cup to an open cup. It looks like an open cup but is topped with a soft cover. When your little one tips the cup, puts his lips anywhere on the rim, and presses on the soft top, water releases. The cup automatically closes tight when your child is not drinking it.

This cup is a great way to avoid spills while learning to use a big kid cup. It’s made without BPA, too. Recommended for ages 12 months+ with a suggested retail price of $6.99. Available in Mickey and Minnie characters. Purchase it online at www.walmart.com.

Disney 3-in-1 Potty System

image007My daughter is in the midst of potty training. She loves the adorable Disney 3-in-1 Celebration Potty System. It’s colorful, fun, and even has a pretend flush handle. I love that the Disney 3-in-1 Celebration Potty System grows with your child because it offers a great value. This potty system starts as a standalone potty and then transitions to a detachable seat to place on the family toilet. Once potty training is done, the sturdy base converts to a convenient step stool.

My daughter is petite so she fit fine onto the potty seat. My friend’s son is 90th percentile, and he tried sitting on the seat, too. His mother thought it was a bit small for him, but she loved the design and functionality of this potty system. I think the fit depends on personal preference, so just something to keep in mind. Recommended for ages 18 months+ with a suggested retail price of $29.99. Available in Mickey and Minnie characters. Purchase it online at www.walmart.com.

Overall I thought The First Years Disney Collection offered a wide range of products for infants and toddlers that were cute, fun, and practical. For more information on The First Years, please visit www.thefirstyears.com.
