Whether apple picking with the family or purchasing a bag of them at the grocery store, apples are plentiful and in season. In fact, October is National Apple Month.
A great way to use up all those apples is to make recipes that include them. Apples add sweetness to recipes and are a healthy ingredient. A medium-sized apple contains only 100 calories. Apples contain no fat, sodium, or cholesterol. But an apple does contain 4 grams of dietary fiber, and eating the skin will provide vitamins B and C.
Over the weekend we baked Apple Cranberry Granola Bread for a fun activity to celebrate the fall. The recipe is simple with many of the ingredients likely already in your pantry.
The recipe also used both Juicy Juice apple juice and a real apple for added flavor and moisture.
We mixed the dry ingredients.
My girls love to bake so they wanted to help. The next step was to add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
We finished off by using the electric mixer to ensure the batter was smooth.
We then poured the batter into the loaf pan. My daughter sniffed the batter and exclaimed, “Smells so yummy!”
I’m a #JuicyJuiceCrew member, so I always keep Juicy Juice stocked for my kids’ lunchboxes and in our refrigerator. As such, I already had apple juice handy for this recipe. My daughters drank some of the apple juice – I had to make sure to save some for the recipe! I love that Juicy Juice products are good for my kids. They’re made from 100% juice, so there’s no artificial sweeteners and other fillers which means none of that bad stuff was in our bread.
The Apple Cranberry Granola Bread recipe offers a lot of versatility. It’s simple to add in chocolate chips, raisins, or anything else your family may love. The recipe turned out really well. The bread tasted delicious and was super moist. We loved the chunks of apple in the bread. It was such a fun way to celebrate National Apple Month and the fall!
